Cooper Lab presents at RISE STEM Inclusion Summit

The Research for Inclusive STEM Education Center hosted the 2023 STEM Inclusion Summit and everyone presented!


Parth presented a poster on his most recent work with Carly: An instructor revealing an LGBTQ+ identity improves student-instructor rapport among undergraduate students in a randomized study.


Mary presented her work on an interview study of undergraduate researchers with depression that she works on with Jynx and Tasneem: Hoping and coming in undergraduate research experiences: Attributions associated with hopelessness and how undergraduates cope with depression in research.


Jynx presented both a talk and poster on her recent project: Social comparison partially mediates the relationship between underserved science identities and fear of negative evaluation.


Tasneem presented a poster examining the impact of an instructor revealing depression: The Upside to Depression: Undergraduates benefit from an instructor revealing depression in a large-enrollment physiology course.


Kimberly presented a poster on research she conducted during a course-base online undergraduate research experience taught by Katey and Carly: Characterizing undergraduate fear of negative evaluation in large-enrollment science courses.
