Katey was invited to present "hot-of-the-press" research on the experiences of students with anxiety and depression in online science courses at the ASU HHMI Inclusive Excellence School of Life Sciences Retreat this Friday.
The research presented was conducted entirely by undergraduate and graduate students in an online course-based undergraduate research experience (CURE). These students finished collecting data only a week and a half ago and turned around enough analyses for a talk! Way to go BIO 494/598! We presented on what aspects of online science courses alleviate and exacerbate student anxiety and depression and what instructors can do to make their virtual classrooms more inclusive of these individuals.
