In 2022, a group of ASU online students embarked on a research project as part of a course-based undergraduate research experience. The resulting manuscript was published this week in CBE Life Sciences Education!
Students examined the prevalence of fear of negative evaluation, or a sense of dread associated with being negatively judged in social situations, in the context of college science courses. They found that fear of negative evaluation disproportionately impacts LGBTQ+ students, first-generation college students, and students with disabilities. To read more about the effects of fear of negative evaluation on these students, read their paper here!
